SFRA Test is a highly reliable and sensitive method or tool for monitoring the physical condition of transformer windings. Transformer windings can be subjected to mechanical stress, severe short circuit faults, transient switching pulses, and lightning strikes during transportation. These mechanical stresses can cause transformer windings to move out of position or deform these windings. In extreme cases, the windings can collapse, and this physical defect can eventually lead to insulation failure or insulation failure in the windings. Sweep frequency response test or SFRA test for short can effectively detect transformer core displacement, winding deformation and displacement, core ground fault, winding part collapse, clip connection broken or loose, short circuit between turns, broken wire, etc.
