How much do you know about insulation resistance testers?

2024-02-01

The Insulation Resistance Tester is a universal high-voltage measuring instrument that can be used for measuring AC high voltage and DC high voltage in power systems, electrical appliances, and electronic equipment manufacturing departments. The insulation withstand voltage tester is composed of a high-voltage measurement section and a low-voltage display instrument. During work, the high-voltage section and low-voltage instruments are separated, ensuring reliable operation. It has a portable structure, and the entire machine uses an aluminum alloy packaging box as the casing, which is very convenient to use and carry.

The upper end of the tester is equipped with a high voltage cover, which can directly input the measured high voltage. The lower end has a grounding terminal for grounding purposes. Connect the high-voltage divider and low-voltage display meter with a cable, and select the corresponding voltage and limit to start the measurement. The withstand voltage tester has the functions of displaying the testing time, measured leakage current, and withstand voltage in full; Test time and leakage current connection can be set arbitrarily; Sound and light alarm, high-voltage breakdown protection; Equipped with a remote control test gun; Features such as manual and remote control testing.

The insulation withstand voltage tester is a testing instrument that tests the withstand voltage capability of various electrical devices, insulation materials, and insulation structures. The process of applying high voltage to insulation materials or structures without damaging their performance is called a withstand voltage test. Generally speaking, the main purpose of withstand voltage testing is to check the insulation's ability to withstand working voltage or overvoltage, and then verify whether the insulation performance of the product equipment meets the standards.

Operating procedures and usage methods: Connect one end of the 0.7M Ω standard resistor to the ground wire of the voltage tester. Connect the power and set the instrument and alarm leakage current to 5mA. Turn on the instrument, strike the other end of the standard resistor with a test rod, and adjust the voltage to within 3410V to 3590V. If the instrument emits an alarm, it is judged that the instrument is in normal working condition. If the instrument alarms outside the range of 3410V to 3590V, it is considered that the instrument is not working properly.

When it is found that the equipment function is malfunctioning during the operation inspection and the operation inspection results cannot meet the specified requirements, the operator needs to retest the products that have been tested since the last operation inspection and send the instrument for repair.
